Woke Left Celebrates Murder Again As Luigi Mangione Sees Charges Dropped

Something deeply unsettling unfolded outside a Manhattan courthouse this week. As Luigi Mangione walked away with two of his most serious charges dismissed, the crowd that had gathered to support him broke into smiles, cheers, and even tears of joy. Think about that: people celebrating a man accused of cold-blooded murder.

This was not just a legal ruling. It was a cultural revelation. A judge decided the terrorism counts didn't meet the state's threshold -- but the real story is the applause from Mangione's supporters, who see him as a "symbol" of resistance against corruption in healthcare. In their minds, violence is no longer a crime but a kind of protest. And that is where the rot lies.

The New Morality of Violence

Why are people rallying around Mangione? Anger at corporate greed plays a part. But beneath that grievance is something far more corrosive: the belief that violence is justified if it's aimed at the "right" targets.

That mindset is no longer fringe. Surveys of young adults reveal something chilling -- Gen Z in particular is far more willing than previous generations to say political violence is justified. Some even go so far as to rationalize assassinations of public figures they dislike, including a disturbing share who said they could understand the killing of Donald Trump.

This isn't a harmless youthful radicalism. It's a moral collapse. The principle at stake here is simple: murder is not protest. Assassination is not reform. Yet a generation is being trained to see those lines blurred.

A Pattern of Celebration

We saw the same dangerous thinking after Charlie Kirk's murder. While millions grieved the loss of a Christian leader and patriot, others celebrated online. Social media threads were filled with twisted approval, mocking Kirk's death as if it were some political victory. When murders of high-profile figures are met with cheers instead of condemnation, society crosses a threshold it may not easily come back from.

And now, with Mangione, we see it again. The justification changes -- healthcare, politics, corruption -- but the principle remains: a growing number of people see violence as a legitimate means to achieve their vision of justice.

The Campus Connection: Hamas and Justified Terror

This same mindset has been on full display across college campuses since October 7, when Hamas unleashed one of the most barbaric terror attacks in modern history. Instead of universal condemnation, thousands of students and faculty justified the slaughter, waving flags and chanting in support of "resistance." They insisted that Hamas violence was not terror but liberation.

It is the very same people defending terror in Israel who are now celebrating Charlie Kirk's death and rallying behind Mangione. In their worldview, the details don't matter -- so long as the victim is someone they oppose, bloodshed is excused, and even glorified.

Influencers Pouring Gasoline on the Fire

Even worse, this mindset isn't just bubbling up from the grassroots. It's being stoked by influential voices with massive platforms. One of the most glaring examples is podcaster Steven Bonnell, better known as "Destiny," who openly declared that conservatives should be afraid of getting killed when they attend events. Let that sink in. This isn't an anonymous troll in some dark corner of the internet -- this is a mainstream content creator with millions of followers essentially calling for fear through murder.

When leaders and influencers refuse to draw a bright line against political violence, they send a green light to those who are already teetering on the edge. They normalize the unthinkable.

Where This Leads

If this continues unchecked, we should not be surprised by what comes next. History has shown us repeatedly what happens when societies flirt with the idea that assassination can be a political tool. It never stops with one death. It spreads, it escalates, and it poisons the entire civic order.

That is the path we are on if we allow this celebration of killers to stand unchallenged. If we allow young Americans to grow up believing that violence is sometimes "necessary" for progress, we will reap only fear, chaos, and tyranny.

The choice is stark: we either restore a moral clarity that says murder is always evil, or we drift into a future where every courthouse becomes a theater of applause for those who shed innocent blood. The woke left may think they are building justice by cheering on killers like Mangione, by praising Hamas, and by mocking the deaths of conservatives like Charlie Kirk -- but in reality, they are laying the foundation for a society where no one is safe, not even themselves.
